Potential pieces for the Artist's Cup.
Here are some potential submissions for exhibition at the Artist's Cup. I'd like to keep the work submitted cohesive, so I've categorised them into three different styles/themes.
They are best viewed on a laptop/desktop/tablet and please click the individual photos to view them in full-size.
Winter:
These were taken in Buckinghamshire, Austria, and Estonia, and are some of my favourite photos. I tried to capture the quietness and melancholy that I associate with snow and cold. To me, winter is tranquil, regenerative, and ethereal.
These could be printed medium-large, perhaps A4/8x12, ideally on canvas (I think frames might feel like they are constricting the subject matter).
Scale:
These photos were taken and edited with the express plan to print them in large formats. They use texture, contrast, and comparison to emphasise the physical size of geological forms. These could be displayed on a more industrial material, such as metal sheet prints, or paper with a metal frame.

Animals:
I've amassed a large collection of animal photos: wild ponies in Dartmoor, bugs in Brompton Cemetery, black-headed gulls off Brownsea Island. If there's anything that can bring out my patience in photography, it's waiting for an animal to make the perfect pose in its natural environment.
